Sugar Bear spends her nights with me, but during the day she gets to spend time with her brother and sisters and mom. Katy is a very good mom and seems to understand, now (after a few growls and warning snaps), that I am helping her with Sugar Bear, not stealing another puppy! Most of the time I check on Sugar Bear, she is tucked against Katy's chest! Other times she is snuggled in between her siblings. She is so tiny, but you should hear her when she is feeding...grunts and groans as loud as her brother and sisters!!! And what an appetite! Sugar Bears' sighs are what tugs at my heart...especially a full tummy sigh...
Sugar Bear is about a third the size of her brother and sisters! I have a few pictures of Sugar Bear and can't seem to get a good one of Katy and the puppies. They come out too dark or blurred. I will share these until I get better pictures. It's time for a new camera! I will try new batteries for now...

She's so tiny.... Man, you must be exhausted, getting up at all hours of the night. Have you considered trying the puppy milk they sell at pet stores and/or the kitten/puppy bottles they have? It seems like you've got a great system with the syringe, but I always end up getting it all over myself when I've used that in the past. Good luck with Sugar Bear, and I'm keeping her and the rest of the family in my prayers. (PS: Can you tell I'm addicted to your blog? I'm checking it every day now. Sheesh.)
Hi Becky, you caught me taking a nap! Before my nap, I checked in on Sugar Bear and she was sleeping on Katy's paw. Sugar Bear only lets a drop or two spill! After her feeding I put her back in with the puppies and she crawled until she was laying across one sister's neck with her nose against the nose of another sister!!! She is getting stronger hour by hour and is getting the interaction she needs with Katy and the puppies...
Janey, I'm going to be so sad if this little one doesn't make it. I love that you were able to get a photo to share. Best of luck with her and the rest of the babies.
Hi Sheila. Sugar Bear is holding her own and nursed on Katy a little yesterday! I will continue to feed her though for as long as she needs it. She is getting me trained real well! The rest of the puppies are doing great and so is Katy. Thank you for posting!
Becky, thank you for caring enough to check in everyday! See ya soon!
hey, my husband is a vet, and i have done many such feedings with him. you've got a whole caravan of animals to keep you super busy, my son would die with the horses, he's 2 and already has been on many horses and can't get enough of them.
Hi Marina, That is how my sons have been all their lives, saw a horse had to go pet it or ride it if we knew the owners. Now they own their own horses and can't get enough of them! Is your husband a small animal vet? Thanks for your comment and hope to stop back by!
