My GONZO! Photography Carnival Entry...

UPDATE: My mother is painting this photo for Travis & Tony!!!
This photo is my entry for the "A GONZO! Photography Carnival. I titled it "...My Mustang Men..." because the picture always reminded me of a "Marlboro" ad. Since my guys don't smoke, I couldn't say "My Marlboro Men", and they do work with mustang horses...

From left to right: Belle (Mustang Mare), Tony on Coal (Mustang Gelding), Clancey (Mustang Colt), Maggie (Clancey's Mustang Mom), and Travis on Cahlibur (Mustang Gelding). Katy is in front! The foothills of Mt. Pinos are in the background. BTW: Snow graces the top of Mt. Pinos this morning!

Tony and Travis are my sons and the horses are just as much family as the rest of our animals!

Terrific photo!

Snow graces the hill across the road from us this morning, too, but my hill is closer than your mountain...and I'm not horribly fond of snow!

Thanks Tracey! I completely understand...we got our fill of snow when we lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming!!!

What a beautiful, classic photo, Janey! Such handsome horses and sons! Is it Katey I see in the picture?

What an awesome photo... it could be a postcard or something!

Hi Marion! Yes, that is Miss Katy in the middle, I was so excited when she strolled up in front of the horses and turned toward the camera...she knew!

Thanks Tonya! I think I will make it a postcard. I have a show in Paso Robles next month...I think I will make some up to see how they fare!!!

You know, Janey, this a wonderful family shot. Katy looks like she is posing--looking right into the camera. The horses are beautiful and your sons look very "cowboy."

Hi Sheila! This is my favorite picture of the guys, their mustangs and Katy!!

How in the world did you get such a photo? Did it take much arranging? And even your dog is looking at the camera. You have a gift!

What a beautiful photograph. What scenery! It's a photograph I want to come back to and explore some more.

Visiting from the photography carnival.

Great photo of your men and the mythical wide open range. It's obvious that horses are a huge part of your life, and I've never even sat on one. Beautiful animals and countryside.

I'm visiting from the photography carnival.

Hi Sharon Lynne! We just took the horses out into the field, TnT lined them up the way they wanted them, called Katy to the front and I took about 4 pictures!! It was a family project for getting a good Christmas Card picture!!!

Beautiful country you live in, and the Mustang Men aren't bad either. :)

Love the wonderful photo Janey. Its just like a picture postcard scene. Your sons and their horses and Katy look like they're on the set of a western movie. My Mustang Men is a good title. Great photography! I'm here via the carnival.

Wonderful photo. I agree with the rest. With western americana being such a big decorating theme these days, you could probably sell it in a large size like 16 by 20 for people to frame. Very nice.

So are you doing the next horse carnival? Sorry I didn't get back to you about a banner for the last one. Frankly, I think you're better at this computer thing than I am. Anything that's not already formated and I'm dead.

Yeah, it's a western movie with such handsome characters, and the Mustang Men aren't bad either . . . and cool scenery. Oh, I'm wishing to be there. Nice photograph, can't wait to see the painting. It's always a delight visiting with you and your family, Janey, even if it's just a virtual visit.

Hi Naomi! Thanks for stopping by!! I love your photo of you and your Grandfather at the carnival!!!

Not a problem Rising Rainbow! I am just mechanically minded and love to work on the computer!! You have me thinking about making this photo available at "Equine Experience" in Paso Robles, CA!! When is the next horse carnival?
