Two years ago today Travis' Mustang mare named Maggie gave birth to her first and only colt! Clancey was born in the early morning of April 2nd, 2005.
When Travis and Tony adopted their mares from the Ridgecrest, CA BLM facility, it only looked like Maggie was a little healthier than the rest of the mares. TnT and our vet knew that she was in foal! Two months later to the day, Clancey was born!!!
In this picture he is four days old and is checking out Travis' beard that he was growing for the "Beard and Whiskerino Contest" that was held in October of 2005!

What an incredibly sweet picture, Janey, love the sepia tone.
Oh, what a wonderful picture, it just gives me goose bumps! I've only raised two foals and miss those soft little faces sniffing my face like that. I had one for 17 years until she died from a twisted gut and the other went back to the previous owner of the mare that was already bred when we bought her (that was in the agreement) but we had her for six months. If you go back in my archives I have two posts Horses 1 and 2 and it tells about my guys. It would be in the early ones. If you can't find them I'll get them for you, just let me know. As soon as there is good weather there will be lots more horse stuff being posted! Right now we have 5 inches of new snow! Yikes! don't need that!
Hi Jan & Midlife Mom! This is another one of my favorite pictures!! I just wish that I was the one being nuzzled!!!
That is such a cute picture! It would be so much fun to have that little bugger running around my barn :)
Clancy is sooo cute!! You have a good memory to remember horse birthdays!
Welcome Fun Size! It has been awesome watching him grow!
Hey Cousin CB, It is not hard to remember our very first colt's birthday!!!
What a lovely photo. Happy birthday to Clancy. He's so very sweet.
Thanks Naomi! Clancey is starting to get sweet again. He hasn't offered to bite at me for several weeks now!!
