A Day With the Guys...

This was a busy day working with the horses. I didn't get pictures of Tony giving Coal a bath or Travis cooling down Cahlibur's legs. I grabbed my camera while Coal was drying by the side of the trailer. Travis walked Clancey in and out of the trailer to see if he had forgotten his trailer training. Clancey just walked in and out without skipping a step. Then it was Clancey's turn for a bath. He didn't quite like the water when it got close to his head or under his tummy!

At this point Coal was dry, so Tony put him back in his pen just in time for a dirt bath! Clancey was drying, so Travis put Cahlibur back in his pen for his dirt bath. Travis acted like he was going to stay on Cahlibur's back until he started to get up. With Cahlibur diagnosed with RingBone, he did not want to hurt Cahlibur by adding extra weight on his back.

Since Coal and Cahlibur were grooming each other, Tony walked across the stables to get Daffinah to see how she would load in the trailer...now, that is another post on another day.

Warning: The song that is attached to this picture album is My Rifle, My Pony and Me. It is a home recording of my family, singing. Travis and Tony were 14 and 15 when we recorded this song. My father sings harmony while I play the keyboard.

I love all the little bits and pieces you post on this blog to keep things interesting!

Cahlibur looks absolutely gorgeous and so is Coal. I'm always partial to a stocky horse tho! ;)

Just to let you know - EQUUS has moved to equus.thomases.org/ if you get a chance to update links.

cheers,

Chris

Did it even take me a millisecond to vote on my favorite breed of horse in your poll? Nope. And thanks in part to my fave being right there at the tippy top (where it belongs, of course!)

Someone once said that dogs consider manure their favorite perfume...I suspect the same can be said of horses.

Hello again!

Cheers for the comments on the blog ;) Thanks for the heads up on blog village too - am adding the site at the moment ;)

Well I'm in Melbourne and the weather's been mild enough temperature wise... but very windy! I'm glad it's more windy closer to town... I can just imagine the damage it could do out on the horse studs!

I'm sure your sons will enjoy their trip! Go figure - places I haven't seen yet... why is it we see more of countries we visit than our own? :D

Hi Chris! I have fun with all the bits and pieces! TnT will love to hear that you are partial to their boys!! Cahlibur and Coal are their first horses and have a special place in their hearts!

I made the link corrections to your blog.

I know huh Tracey! I kinda put my favorite breed at the top!! But all horses are my favorite really!!! There is nothing more majestic that a herd of horses running across the land or through a river or stream...unless maybe they were my horses on my land!!!

Welcome to BLOG VILLAGE Chris! I did not realize that Australia was so huge. I take TnT to LAX this next weekend and they are off to Australia for two weeks!!!

I wonder why that is...(why is it we see more of countries we visit than our own?) Maybe because we think the grass is greener on the other side?
