PACKING LIST...

The following is a list of the items that Travis and Tony took with them for two cowboys, four mustang horses and a dog; to survive two weeks in the John Muir Wilderness Area.

1 Vet Kit (Put together by Veterinarian Dr. Pipkin of Panama Equine, Bakersfield, CA)

2 rolls toilet paper

1 Ferriers Kit

1 Leather Repair Kit

2 knives

3 sets of clothes each

2 dusters

2 leather chaps

2 hatsavers

Fishing gear

1 Bell+Howell Camera with extra batteries and memory card

1 roll duct tape

1 roll bailing wire

2 bedrolls

2 wool blankets

2 flashlights

Matches (water tight container)

Food List

10 cans of beans

1 lb. bacon ~ once camp was reached, the bacon (in an air tight container) was kept in a

stream or lake to keep refrigerated!

1 lb. coffee

5 lbs. asst. trail mixes and nuts

4 lbs. Jerky

3 cans Spam

6 cans peaches

3 lbs. Flour

salt & pepper

6 pkg. Top Ramen

2 pre-sweetened pkgs Kool-Aid

1 box pancake mix

1 plastic bottle syrup

80 lbs. Grain (2 lbs per horse on travel days)

2 collapsible canvas water buckets

2 grain masks (only Cahlibur liked this, so the rest of the trip the guys’ tin plates were

used)

16 lbs. Dog Food (Free grazing for Katy!)

Coffee Pot

Skillet

2 Tin Plates

2 knife, fork, spoon sets

2 canteens

Water purification tablets
