PREPARING FOR THE PACK TRIP...
In preparation for their two week pack trip into the John Muir Wilderness, brothers Travis and Tony Fisher, make sure that their horses are ready. Already up-to-date on their yearly vaccinations, all four mustang will be fully shod for the first time in their lives, back pack training will continue, and gear will be purchased. In this picture, Tony caught Travis turned around in the saddle...literally!!! The panniers (boxes at Maggey and Belle's sides) are filled with bags of 
sand to get them used to the weight they will each carry on the trip. In the picture below, Tony caught Belle checking out her panniers. The mares have done very well on getting used to the equipment.
"Okay...they haven't bitten yet!"
