MnC Update...

The Christmas season has kept us all busy this year! There have been several things going on in our little piece of the world that I would like to share with you though...

TnT have their computer hooked up and will have internet access the day after Christmas. So after that they will be receiving any mail sent to mustangncowboys@gmail.com!

The guys are still working 12 hours shifts so they have only had time to feed the horses and get a few rides in on their days off. They did however have an interesting conversation with an old cowboy when they went to the local grocery store for a few items!

The old cowboy wanted to know where they were from. They always reply that they are "from" Texas, but that they just moved from California. It turned out that he was born and raised in Taft, CA and he had heard that they had moved to Pecos (from a lady that lived in a smaller town outside of Pecos)! He asked how four or five different people that TnT knew here in Taft were doing...it is a small world after all!!!

And then after talking with him for a bit, they ran into a horse trainer that wanted to know what days they have off each week. It turns out that he needs the guys to help with halter breaking a corral full of yearlings and with training a bunch of two year olds!!!

Oakley is doing great! She is spinning on her front feet (not the back yet!), stopped by almost sitting on the ground, and is following Travis around matching his gait as he walks or trots along beside her with the willingness and eagerness to please that she used to have. Cody and Jessie are jumping up into the truck on their own, Clancey has turned into a sweetheart. Tony was putting Coal through his paces as I talked with him on the phone. Tony was saying that Travis will start working with Clancey when they get back to 8 hour shifts, and that he will work with Belle. As it looks like right now they will be trained to pull the buggies! Because the guys were starting to put the saddles and rest of the gear into the back of the truck, Katy was waiting there and Rusty was chasing a rabbit!

I would like to mention too, that the guys are feeding with a rolled bundle of hay right now. It is a natural grass hay indigenous to the region and should give the effect of the horses being able to free graze. They have some room to run and play where they are at right now so it might work out. The guys placed the roll in the middle of the corral and have been watching close to make sure that the horses don't "blimp out" because of it. LOL

However, even Cahlibur is not showing signs of significant weight gain. The guys have reminded me that it is still too early to know for sure. They can't wait to get back to 8 hour shifts so that they can throw flakes again and have the interaction of feeding by hand. Although, this way they have more time to work the horses a little bit each night!

On another note, I love the world of blogging. Because we are apart of the blogosphere we have been united with a distant cousin on one side and reunited with close family members on the other side. Just recently we received an email from TnT's paternal grandmother and aunt! As everyone well knows, life has a way of keeping family members apart for one reason or another. The guys' cousin, Lisa, found them through this very blog!

I would also like to share with you a new venture that is keeping me busy these day with TnT in Texas. It is our new PJ's CafePress Gift Shoppe. I created the "Mustang 'n' Cowboys" section and have enjoyed some orders already!!! TnT are receiving a package from CafePress for Christmas, I wonder what it is! (Good thing they don't have internet access until after Christmas!!!)

Merry Christmas Ya'll,

Janey Loree and TnT!!!
