TnT have found a new pastime! They are learning how to make chain mail coifs, shirts and gloves. These four pictures are of Trav in his practice coif...He made this one out of 14 guage wire. Kinda big, but Trav said that it is surprisingly not heavy once it is in place on your head. The guys are going to use a smaller 16 guage wire for their coifs and shirts and an even smaller 20 guage wire for their gloves. It is weird how wire gets smaller the larger the number.
Trav made a jig in his uncles' welding shop area that helps make the rings. Tony is working on his shirt and Trav is working on his gloves.
They already have an order to make a chain mail jacket for their uncles' Chihuahua, Luke! The jacket will be made out of aluminum wire so that it won't be too heavy. Luke only weighs 4 lbs. 2 oz. I have put an order in for a chain mail purse!
Their other pastimes include braiding halters and lead ropes, making wooden saddle racks and hat racks, hoof picks out of horseshoes, and restoring old chairs. They are also trying their hand at tanning a steer hide. (Hair off this time!)

Well, I haven't seen anything like this. Pretty cool.
Creativity really runs in your family. I definitely want to see a picture of Luke the Chihuahua in his jacket. What a cute idea.
Sheila ~ The cool part is that the guys don't sit in front of the TV 24/7! And even when they are watching TV they are braiding or preparing chain mail circles. Besides taking care and training their horses takes up all their daylight time.
Jan ~ I will post a picture of Luke the minute we get him dressed! He already wears a converted sock for his sweater...poor little guy!
Trust the boys to find yet another cool project.... I still haven't given up my suspicion that they don't ever sleep. They insist that they do, like normal people, occassionally lay down to rest, but I still have serious doubts. :)
Hi Becky! Missed you at Thanksgiving. p.s. They are sleeping right now!
So will you now be having jousting tournaments :)
The pups are sssoooooo cute.
If the guys can talk their uncle into making suit of armor for them and their horses...they would love too! With the size of Cahlibur and Coal they would be able to handle the extra weight!
The puppies are tumbling all around now and come running to the edge of their pen to meet everyone and anyone who passes by!
