Cowboys' Fall...

This is a repost. You probably didn't expected this for an entry in the "BLOG VILLAGE Fall Fest". Even though the pictures were taken this last summer, it is of a cowboy "fall"(ing)!!

Travis decided to work with my horse a little. Because of the way she was acting at first (kicking out at Lucky) he decided to go out to the field (not before handing his cell phone to Tony) where the manure is spread to get on her. I am glad he did! The next four posts will capture Oakley being a naughty girl. Why does it have to be my horse that has these little fits? She has been shown nothing but love since she has come to live with us...and we know that her previous owner did not abuse her...somewhere something happened to her and it is up to TnT (and me) to help her forget it! I found a new slideshow website that will accommodate more pictures. I recommend setting the speed to as fast as is comfortable for you so that you can catch the action!!! (There are 36 pictures in this slideshow, so please be patient while it loads...)

Feisty, isn't she? Just checking links. Thanks for submitting.

Yes, she was! The odd thing about all this is that TnT were riding her and she was light to the touch when she was owned by her previous owners and for the first year of her life with us.

Then for some reason she started acting like what you see. We could never pin the reason down.

I just heard from my son Tony this morning that Travis got up on her last night and she didn't even offer to buck!!!

CyberCelt, thank you for hosting this blog carnival!!!

Glad to see that even a good rider can come off a horse. I can never stay on a horse as they sense I am scared silly, put down their heads and over I go LOL

Howdy Jackie! I've had my share of horse falls, too! LOL

Cool slide show. I miss riding!

So do I, Cecile! Although I have been able to riding around the stables on Coal a couple of times and we went for a trail ride while Travis rode my horse, Oakley, Tony was on Coal and I got to ride Travis' mustang, Cahlibur!

However, since back surgery I am not as confident on a horse as I was when I was younger. I am working on strengthening my back, so that I can go for as many horseback rides as I want!!!

Hi Janey, I've been catching up on your posts! That was some slide show! I liked the site on the saddle too, good information and I learned a few terms that I didn't know before. Thanks for posting it!! You must really miss watching the guys work the horses in person. I can understand that completely. Isn't it wonderful that we have the technology that we have though so you can at least have the nice slide show.

I am improving all the time from my fall. I am going to start back at the gym next week on a light work out to begin with. It seems good to be able to turn my neck again when backing my car out. The hematoma sp? is still fairly big on my leg but is going down all the time. Guess we just don't bounce like we used to. I am just so blessed that I didn't break my neck the way I landed!!!!

Take care!

I've not been on a horse in years, and even then I didn't know what I was doing. I've been thrown off a few times.... not a pleasant memory at all.

Makes me feel a little better to know that even seasoned horsemen get thrown, too!

I'm stopping by from the BLOG VILLAGE Fall Fest Carnival.

Hi DB! I had my share of falls when I owned my first horse, but then I was only 12 and it didn't hurt so much...well maybe my pride!

Thank you for stopping by via the BVFFC!! I need to go back and make sure that I visited all the posts!!!
